Iron County SNOWMOBILE TRAILS are OPEN.  Some trails remain closed due to wet conditions, signs are posted.  Early winter conditions exist and change rapidly.  Some areas have less snow which may result in icy conditions.

Iron County is located in far northern Wisconsin bordering Lake Superior, Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Ashland, Vilas and Price Counties.  The third largest County Forest in the State of Wisconsin, Iron County offers plenty of recreational opportunities from hunting and fishing, to ATVing and snowmobiling, to camping, hiking and cross country skiing.  The Iron County Forestry Department is responsible for managing 174,317 acres of County Forest.
