2018 Spring Timber Sale

 The Iron County Forestry Committee will accept timber sale bids for fourteen (14) timber sale tracts until 8:30 A.M. on Thursday, June 7, 2018.  Sealed bids received by that time and date will be publicly opened at 9:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at the Iron County Forestry Office Conference Room, and will be reviewed.  Contracts may be awarded to successful bidders after bids are opened.  Sale prospectus, maps and bid forms may be picked up beginning Thursday, May 3, 2018 at the Iron County Forestry Office, 607 3rd Avenue North – Suite 2, Hurley, WI 54534 phone:  (715)561-2697, office hours Monday-Thursday 6:00 am-4:00 pm/Friday closed, can be accessed on our website at www.ironcountyforest.org or can be mailed to you upon request for a $3.00 fee.

 




SAXON HARBOR is CLOSED for construction until further notice.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed Bids for harbor dredging and basin edge reconstruction at Saxon Harbor in Iron County, Wisconsin will be received by Iron County Forestry and Parks Departments, at the Office of the Iron County Forestry Administrator, 607 3rd Ave N, Suite 2, Hurley, WI  54534, until 2:00 PM, local time on Thursday, May 24, 2018, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.  The Project consists of dredging/excavating an estimated 21,100 cubic yards of sediment and debris from within Saxon Harbor. Dredge material consists primarily of a mix of stone, sand, silt, clay, and timber deposited in the harbor as a result of the July 2016 flood event. Work will include fill of the basin perimeter areas eroded away and installation of precast concrete edge wall and riprap bank protection. Additional work items include new boat launch construction, repair of two existing boat launches, and repair of timber fender system. This work will be performed in coordination with concurrent reconstruction work at the project site being performed by other state and federal contractors. Work is to be completed during the spring and summer of 2018 with work being substantially complete by August 13, 2018.

Bids will be received for a single prime Contract.  Bids shall be on unit price basis, with additive optional bid items as indicated in the Bid Form.

Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.

Bidders shall submit proof of qualifications to perform the Work with bid as described in the Instructions to Bidders.
