Iron County Forestry 2021 Fall Timber Sale

The Iron County Forestry Committee will accept timber sale bids for twenty-one (21) timber sale tracts until 8:30 A.M. on Thursday, October 7, 2021.  Mail or deliver your sealed bids to: Iron County Forestry Department, 607 3rd Ave N Suite 2, Hurley, WI  54534.
Bids received by that time and date will be opened at 9:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at the Iron County Forestry Office Conference Room, 607 3rd Ave N, Hurley, WI 54534 and will be reviewed. 
Sale prospectus, maps and bid forms will be available beginning Thursday, August 26, 2021 on our website at or can be mailed or emailed to you upon request.  Please call (715)561-2697 or email to request the documents via mail or email.  A $3 mailing fee will be charged if documents are requested to be mailed.
Iron County reserves the right to reject any or all bids received, or to accept the bid that it considers to be in the best interest of Iron County.

Iron County is located in far northern Wisconsin bordering Lake Superior, Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Ashland, Vilas and Price Counties.  The fourth largest County Forest in the State of Wisconsin, Iron County offers plenty of recreational opportunities from hunting and fishing, to ATVing and snowmobiling, to camping, hiking and cross country skiing.  The Iron County Forestry Department is responsible for managing 175,305 acres of County Forest.

Firewood permits $20 and are valid for 1 year from the date of purchase.​



Any firewood brought into an Iron County Campground must come from within 25 miles of the campground or a WI certified firewood dealer.
