Firewood permits $20 and are valid for 1 year from the date of purchase.​



                          

NEW IRON COUNTY CAMPGROUND FIREWOOD RULE:

Any firewood brought into an Iron County Campground must come from within 25 miles of the campground or a WI certified firewood dealer.

 Trail Update:


ATV/UTV Trails are OPEN as long as the temperature is 32 degrees or below.

Snowmobile Trails are now open.



 

The marina at SAXON HARBOR is CLOSED for the season.  The campground is expected to open mid-Summer 2020.

Iron County is located in far northern Wisconsin bordering Lake Superior, Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Ashland, Vilas and Price Counties.  The third largest County Forest in the State of Wisconsin, Iron County offers plenty of recreational opportunities from hunting and fishing, to ATVing and snowmobiling, to camping, hiking and cross country skiing.  The Iron County Forestry Department is responsible for managing 174,317 acres of County Forest.
