All Northern Iron County snowmobile and ATV trails will be closed effective Monday, March 18, 2019 at 8:00 am. Gates along the trails will be closed.
The following trails are closed – 17 north of 310 road, 77, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9 north of trail 11, 13 & 15.
Mercer area trails are still in good condition at this time. Southern Iron County Trails will remain open and the status will be reassessed on Thursday. Temperatures for the weekend are forecasted well into the 50s.
The following trails are still open – 17 south of 310 Rd, 9 south, 10, 11, 12, 14, 19, 20 21, 23, 51 & 182.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed Bids for campground reconstruction at Saxon Harbor in Iron County, Wisconsin, will be received by Iron County Forestry and Parks Department, at the Office of the Iron County Forestry Administrator, 607 3rd Avenue N, Suite 2, Hurley, WI 54534, until 2:00 PM CST, on Thursday, April 4, 2019, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. The Project consists of selective site demolition as required to perform the work: excavating and hauling soil and hauling, spreading, and compacting borrow to attain design grades for the construction and placement of roadways, concrete, buildings, utilities, and other campground equipment and facilities. Asphalt and gravel paving including hauling, placement, and compaction of base course, binder, and surface asphalt layers. Cast-in-place concrete will be placed for sidewalks, floor slabs, structural foundations and walls, and other landscaping and storm water management. The work includes installation of water, electric, and sewer utilities to support the campground operations. The work includes installing campground restroom facilities and sanitary sewer holding tank. Site restoration and storm water controls are part of the work and includes finish grading, placing topsoil, seeding, landscaping, installing and maintaining erosion controls, and installing facility storm water systems. Estimated start date is May 15, 2019 pending FEMA notice to proceed, and the work shall be substantially complete by September 16, 2019.
Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on unit price basis, with additive optional bid items as indicated on the Bid Form.

A pre-bid conference will be held at 1:00 PM CST, on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, in the Iron County Forestry Department Conference Room, 607 3rd Avenue N, Hurley, WI 54534. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is highly encouraged but is not mandatory.
Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
Bidders shall submit proof of qualifications to perform the Work with bid as described in the Instructions to Bidders.
