The Potato River Grouse Management Area has been developed in cooperation with the Ruffed Grouse Society and the WDNR.  This 600 acre tract with 3.6 miles of marked trails and 9 game openings is located between the Potato River, Hwy 122 and Sullivan Fire Land in the Towns of Anderson and Saxon.

Forest management activities are planned and implemented in order to increase grouse population and habitat in this area.

Parking areas are located on Hwy 122 approximately 1 mile north of the Cty Hwy E intersection and on Upson Lake Road about .25 miles east of Upson Lake.

Hunting

The Iron County Forest has more than 174,000 acres open to hunting, fishing and trapping.  Current WDNR regulations apply as well as Iron County Deer Stand Rules.
